Breaking: Kassams hit Ashkelon - One hits Barzilay Hospital (UPDATED)
Israel Radio has just reported that four Kassam rockets have landed in Ashkelon in the last half hour. One of them landed in an open area on the campus of Barzilay Hospital, which is where most Kassam victims from Sderot are taken. More to follow. I'm trying to be in Live Blog mode.UPDATE 7:00 PM
Israel Radio is reporting five more rockets shot in the last hour, one lightly wounded in Ashkelon. It wasn't clear to me how many rockets hit where, but they may be hiding that on purpose. Ashkelon is now without power in some places because a rocket hit a high tension wire.
Yitzchak Cohen of Shas has called on the Defense Minister to cut off all electricity and water to Gaza tonight. Don't hold your breaths waiting for that to happen.
Abu Mazen is trying to convince Israel to stop targeting terrorists in Gaza and to open the borders. No chance that will happen.
Here's video of what appears to be the poultry factory that was hit in Sderot today.
Sorry it took so long for this update - Israel Radio's 'news station' had a lengthy sports magazine and I doubt most of you are interested in Israeli soccer.
It looks like there's going to be a war tonight down south. More than forty rockets have been shot at the western Negev by 'Palestinian' terrorists today.

Lets wait for the UN condemnation of the attack on the hospital. Israel should raise hell about this to the media, to the UN, to everyone. Not because it will make a difference, but because it will expose those pushing double standards for whom they are, and enable Israel to take the next step.
The next step has to be a removal of all arab population from Gaza. The only way that attacks will stop is if they are not there to do the attacking. With the border between Gazastan and Egypt open, it is way past time to push the 'palis' back home to Egypt from where they originally came. Seal the border afterwords. If missles come over the fence, then Egypt has declared war on Israel. Mubarak is smart enough not to let that happen, so he can crack down as hard as he wants on the foolish 'palis'.
The 'palis' have just abdicated any claim on wanting peace or neighborly relations. It is well past time to respond, with vicious disproportionate force, and compell them to flee for their lives.
UN and the rest of the world that cautions 'moderation' be damned, it isn't your hospitals and people being randomly targetted ... you don't get a say in the response. If the rest of the world wants to do something positive, convince Egypt to take these schmucks. Otherwise world, STFU and STFD.
I just read that 64% of Israelis in a poll(haaretz?) want talks with Hamas....is this true?...why?...i'm trying to understand whats happening in Israel but obviously can't get much info from British sources.
Thanks for the liveblogging Carl. I appreciate the local information.
Phillistines upon you, Olmert, you jerk!
