About Me
- Name: Carl in Jerusalem
- Location: Jerusalem, Israel
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. You can contact me at: IsraelMatzav at gmail dot com

The Psalmist says we are to bathe our feet in the blood of the wicked. So every one will see and hear and be afraid and know that G-d executes justice on earth. For he that doeth evil cannot escape the judgment of the Judge Of The World. Let us rejoice when we see evil laid down at our feet!
"When your enemy falls, do not rejoice, and when he stumbles, let your heart not exult, lest the Lord see and be displeased, and turn His wrath away from him."
- Proverbs, 24:17-18
Shy Guy, there's a difference between a enemy who fights you honorably and an enemy who attacks your weak and helpless. The former type of enemy one is enjoined as Proverbs rightly says, not take pleasure in their death. With the latter, who is a descendant of Amalek, it is not only permitted to rejoice when he dies, G-d commands the memory of such a soul be blotted out from under Heaven. Some people are so evil, they deserve neither respect nor mercy. The animal named Imad Fayez Mugniyah, may his name be blotted out from the memory of men,
received exactly that kind of reception.
And this is the vile beast the Arab and Muslim World mourns!
Norman, my point is it's not exactly like we're so worthy of having such fiends meeting their fate.
We need to be a bit humble and keep a low profile.
But am I glad this happened? You can bet your sweet bippy I am!
