The 'Palestinians' turn on the Egyptians

Good week everyone.

Thirty-six Egyptian soldiers have been hospitalized - some in critical condition - as a result of 'incidents' with 'Palestinians' who would rather stay in Egypt with its cheap food, fuel and cigarettes (Hat Tip: Little Green Footballs), rather than return to their cages in Gaza.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit told reporters following a meeting with the Egyptian president and several cabinet ministers, that between 10 and 12 riot police and 26 border guards, including two senior officers, were all in the hospital, some in danger of losing their lives, due to "actions by Palestinian elements" over the past two days.

"These provocations cause us concern and our Palestinian brothers should note that the Egyptian decision to host them and ease their suffering should not result in threats to the lives of our sons in the Egyptian forces," he said.

There were reports of Hamas gunmen opening fire Friday on Egyptian security forces attempting to stem the flow of thousands of Palestinians into the Egyptian border town of Rafah after border wall was destroyed two days earlier.
Could it be that the 'Palestinians' have finally figured out the truth: that there is no such thing as a 'Palestinian' and that the Egyptians are Arabs just like them who have been holding them hostage for the last sixty years to try to bring about the destruction of the State of Israel?

You will also note that the Egyptians did not succeed in shutting down the border at 3:00 yesterday like they said they would. In fact, they still haven't shut it down. Rafah has become one massive shopping mall in which the supposedly 'penniless' 'Palestinians' look for bargains, just like Massachusetts residents do in New Hampshire and Illinois residents in Wisconsin.... Well... sort of....
On the Gaza-Egypt border, car and pedestrian traffic remained heavy Saturday, four days after Hamas operatives blew down the border wall, sending hundreds of thousands of Gazans rushing into Egypt.

In an attempt to restore some control, Egyptian armored vehicles blocked the main street of the Egyptian border town of Rafah, causing a snarled traffic jam of honking cars filled with Gazans shopping for fuel, food and consumer products.

Earlier Saturday, dozens of riot police had formed human chains to block the two passages cut through the breached border, before once again giving up and allowing the cars to cross into the Egyptian side of the divided town. Authorities were making renewed efforts, however, to keep them out of the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak wants Israel to solve the problem for him by letting the 'Palestinians' march on Ashkelon instead.
In an interview published Friday, President Hosni Mubarak called the situation in Gaza "unacceptable" and called on Israel to "lift its siege" and "solve the problem."

"They should get things back to normal according to previous agreements and understandings," Mubarak told the weekly Al-Osboa newspaper. He also invited rival Palestinian factions to Cairo for talks, but did not mention a date.
If Israel had a real Prime Minister, he would stand up and say "Sorry Hosni. They're not our 'brothers' and they're not our problem. They're yours." But Israel doesn't have a real Prime Minister right now. We have Pinocchio. So no such decisive statement will be made.

Leave it up to the Egyptians to save Ehud Olmert from his own stupidity. Incidentally, Israel has begged to have the border re-closed, without success thus far.
