EU denies connection to potassium nitrate shipment
The European Union is denying any connection to the shipment of potassium nitrate that was disguised as sugar that the IDF caught three weeks ago and disclosed last night. The official said that the bags could not be confused with bona fide EU aid for a number of reasons, including that the EU does not export sugar as part of aid to the Palestinians, and that food assistance to the PA - funneled through UNRWA or the World Food program - clearly carries the 12-star symbol of the EU and the name of the European Commission on the bags.I'd like to believe the Europeans, but frankly they have a dismal record of seeking to supply the 'Palestinians' with whatever the 'Palestinians' want and of failing to comply with Israeli instructions. If the 'most vulnerable Palestinians' are more interested in obtaining explosive material than food, maybe that ought to cause the Europeans to reconsider how, when and why they provide them with 'humanitarian aid.'
"If this was an attempt to misuse the name of the EU or European Commission it would be an isolated criminal act and we condemn it," the official said. "But this criminal act cannot put into question the efforts by the EU to provide aid that is vital for the most vulnerable Palestinians. We condemn any abuse of any humanitarian aid for non humanitarian purposes, and those who commit such acts do so to the detriment of the Palestinians."
There is no doubt in my mind that the Europeans will continue to function as they have in the past, with total disregard for the lives and safety of Israelis, and that because of our own government's unwillingness to confront them, we Israelis will continue to suffer the consequences.
May the European Union rot in the Islamist hell they are creating for themselves.

I don't excuse the Europeans - they will get the due reward for their hatred of Israel but let's not excuse Israel's leaders either.
They are more concerned with the effect of Gentile opinion than with defending Jewish lives or upholding Jewish sovereignty in its homeland.
With all they are doing they are as contemptible as the Europeans and they do not show clean hands when accuse the EU of going behind their backs to give the Palestinians explosives.
Israel's leaders are doing a wonderful job all on their own to arm and equip Abbas' "good" terrorists. And they are repeatedly surprised by the results.
It can be said Israel's leaders deny the connection between their policies and the evil in the land, such as the murder of David Rubin and Achikam Amichai. Yet it is there in the most stark way for all to see.
One of the major problems I have with any aid, across the globe, is the lack of accountability. This in spite of the fact that we know the people who it is intended for rarely receive it or benefits from it.
No aid should be provided unless we have control from beginning to end. Quite frankly, we have better ways to spend our taxes within our own countries, or on those we know will use the aid properly, than supporting terrorists and human rights abusers.
If the 'most vulnerable Palestinians' are more interested in obtaining explosive material than food, maybe that ought to cause the Europeans to reconsider how, when and why they provide them with 'humanitarian aid.'
Don't hold your breath.
