Taking a page out of Israel's book

When Israel undertook Operation Defensive Shield in 2002, one of the things it did that most damaged Yasser Arafat was not killing terrorists or controlling territory but raiding Arafat's Mukhata (picture at top left is from September 2003) - his headquarters - and taking his files and computer disks. Using the files and computer disks, Israel was able to discredit Arafat in the eyes of the United States and the West by proving to them that Arafat was taking western money and using it to finance terrorism. Of course, Israelis knew that all along but the rest of the world didn't want to believe it.

Hamas captured Fatah headquarters in Gaza today and did the same thing that the Israelis did in Ramallah five years ago. They've taken the computer disks and the files. They are claiming that the files show that Fatah collaborated with the CIA (probably true - we all know that the CIA trained Force 17) and - more seriously - that it helped Israel to conduct operations against Hamas terrorists. The goal is twofold: to embarrass Fatah and to show the 'Palestinians' why they don't want Fatah to rule over them. According to YNet, Hamas is already making claims about what's in the documents. I don't believe those claims - they couldn't possibly have had the time to go through them. But if they have the time and patience to go through them, in a month or so they could make a convincing case that Fatah is the group of 'collaborators' that Hamas claims they are:
"If we release these documents, the entire world will be shocked, not just the Palestinians. The dozens of armored vehicles, RPG launchers and rockets, the hundreds of thousands of bullets we have – they are all nothing compared to the documents and data discs we uncovered.

"There are video tapes of surveillance against our fighters and their homes, wiretaps on our calls, the PA's entire method of operation has been exposed," he said.

The Hamas man said that the documents also implicate several Arab nations of involvement in the internal Palestinian power-struggle in an attempt to impair Hamas. According to the Hamas source the papers also document the PA's cooperation with the American CIA against Palestinian organizations, especially Hamas.

Releasing the documents would entail the approval of the Hamas leadership, said the Hamas source, saying that the documents would be used to prove the justness of Hamas' fight against the Palestinian security forces.
WorldNetDaily has more details about the documents:
Abu Abdullah, a member of Hamas' so-called military wing, said, "Now our job is to study these files, which are already showing that they are crucial for our fight against the Zionists and anyone who collaborates with them, including the Americans."

Abdullah said the CIA documents they browsed so far contain "information about the collaboration between Fatah and the Israeli and American security organizations; CIA methods on how to prevent attacks, chase and follow after cells of Hamas and the Committees; plans about Fatah assassinations of members of Hamas and other organizations; and American studies on the security situation in Gaza."

...

Committees Spokesman Abdel El told WND he was sitting in a Gaza mosque today pouring through some of the files on the Committees when he found his name mentioned in the documents four times.

"I am amazed by the material and the context of the documents," he said.
Hamas is also trying to put Arab countries who are not receptive to it - notably Egypt and Jordan - on the defensive:
Abdullah claimed the documents also detailed CIA networks in other Arab countries and "how to help beat Islamic allies of Hamas in other Arab countries, including Egypt and Jordan."

"We will use these documents and make portions public to prove the collaboration between America and traitor Arab countries," Abdullah said.
Which and how many of these claims are eventually substantiated will be seen in the days and weeks ahead. But Hamas has clearly been planning this operation for a long time and has done their homework. If they are able to come up with information on Egypt and Jordan, look for them to try to export their Islamist Caliphate well beyond the Gaza Strip in a hurry.

Of course, the BDS-afflicted psychopathic left must blame anyone and everyone except Hamas and the phony Arab policies that produced just one more catastrophe in the Levant.

Anyone who watched the BBC last night saw Hamas gunmen emptying their AK-47s and other automatic weapons into the air without a thought in their monkey brains about where the bullets would come down. The primitive savagery of the Arabs can’t think beyond their testoserone to the fact that 2 million lost souls live in the garbage dump that is Gaza, and some will get hit by said bullets. Happens all the time, but the BBC and Guardian never report where the bullets come down.

And a brain-dead bimbo Arab reporter in Beirut called the assassination of a Sunni judge “daring” as though killing someone and ten bystanders in an amusement park was an act of bravery. This bi-yotch with a mike then said that the Shi’ites and their allies were “chipping away” at the anti-Syrian majority in Lebanese parliament, as if seven murders in the last two years was some sort of parliamentary tactic.

I lived in the Middle East for almost a decade, speak and read Arabic, and there is little if anything more to hope from this savage medieval relic of a “civilization” that purports to be founded on a “religion of peace.” My lyin’ eyes just can’t see the peace that blowing up Sunni and Shi’ite places of worship in progressive acts of retaliation fits into the term “civilization.”

And any female Arab bimbo who describes a car-bomb murder in an amusement park as “daring” should be fired immediately. And “chipping away” is not a term literate people use for political murders.

These murderers are to blame, and the International Left sees them as allies, and so must finger-point at Bush, Blair, Israel, or even Global Warming before it attacks its terrorist friends on the left. Or violent reactionaries like Hamas, who are the friends of the NYT, WaPo, and other political elites who hate and oppose Bush with the irrational frenzy of true psychotic maniacs.
