And for this we gave them Sinai

The Egyptian parliament held an 'emergency session' tonight to 'debate' the bogus claim that Israel is damaging the Temple Mount by the archaeological digs taking place outside its walls as preparation for repairing its access ramp. Israel has nominally been at peace with Egypt since 1982, when Israel finished giving Egypt every last grain of sand in Sinai. But you would never know it from this statement:
A member of the Egyptian Parliament from President Hosni Mubarak's ruling party said Monday that nothing short of a nuclear bomb would 'work' with Israel.

"That cursed Israel is trying to destroy al-Aksa mosque," Mohamed el-Katatny of Mubarak's National Democratic Party (NDP) told the Egyptian Parliament, adding "nothing will work with Israel except for a nuclear bomb that wipes it out of existence."

...

During the session some parliament members urged a cancellation of all agreements with Israel saying the war between Egypt and Israel was continuing even though treaties were signed.
Egypt is the third largest recipient of US foreign aid by virtue of its treaty with Israel.

Carl,

This is the opening for the next war.

Just as Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount was the start of Stupidfada II.

The stupidity.

Drop a bomb. Some northern wind and Egypt is cursed.

I'd like to quote racoon:
"The Muslim world decided, in its infinite sanity and wisdom, that the Evil Jooz (tm) (AKA Piggy Ape Zionist CrUSAders – thanks, Drima ;) ) are evilly plotting and scheming to destroy their precious mosque. For over 40 years. Which makes us Evil Jooz (tm) not only the most inept genociders in history, but also the most incompetent demolitioners in the world. "

Currently, Egypt hasn't got the balls to mess with Israel (though, the Second Lebanon War probably gave them a bit more confidence).

Their current strategy is to shut their eyes on what's going on in the Philadelphy Route- weapons smuggling into the Gaza Strip, together with drugs and hookers(but that's for another topic).

So, you can call it a peace....
