IDF report on Goldwasser-Regev kidnapping: One soldier critically wounded, the other seriously wounded

This evening, the IDF released its official report on the kidnapping of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev last July. The report says that one of the soldiers was likely critically wounded in the kidnapping and the other was likely very seriously wounded (in Hebrew, these would be referred to as פצוע אנוש and פצוע קשה, respectively). The wounds were suffered in the initial Hezbullah missile attack on their patrol in July. It is not known which of the soldiers suffered which wounds. The report was based on blood findings and damage caused to the IDF armored Humvee patrol vehicles.

In an interview with Television Channel 1, Eldad Regev's brother, Benny, who was given access to the full report at the time of its release Wednesday, said "this report clearly points to them being alive. There is no proof whatsoever, that both of them, are not among the living."

Also this evening, the kidnapped soldiers' families issued a statement in which they called for an immediate meeting of the political-security cabinet to discuss the soldiers' release.
