Intelligence report to the Knesset: Assad preparing for war, Syrians smuggling arms to Hezbullah, Hamas smuggling anti-aircraft weapons into Gaza
Brigadier-General Yossi Beyditz, head of the Research Department in the IDF Directorate of Military Intelligence briefed the cabinet today on the latest events. There were three principle parts to the briefing:1. The Syrians have remained at the forward positions that they took up this summer during the war in Lebanon. They are apparently preparing for war, although Beyditz believes that they are in a defensive posture, i.e. that the Chinless Ophthalmologist believes that Israel is going to attack him.
2. The IDF has unequivocal proof that the Syrian government is involved in smuggling arms to Hezbullah in violation of UN Security Council Resolution (UNSC) 1701. Although I first reported this six weeks ago, this is the first time it has been officially acknowledged by the Israeli government.
3. The 'Palestinians' are smuggling anti-aircraft weapons into the Gaza Strip. According to government (and formerly IDF) spokeswoman Miri Eisen, the weapons are coming from Iran and "other countries that sell them." We've known that for at least three months.
But it's nice to hear that the Israeli government is on top of things....

I was just reading "The War of Atonement" by Chim Herzog, and the Syrains did exactly that before attaching Israel in 1973! They deployed their forces in a 'defensive' manner, to the point of even telling all of the commanders that their positions were defensive! up until a few hours before the actual attack, they actually were defensive. Do you think Bashar learned a few things from Daddy?
Have we forgotten the hate that theyhy have towards us? Have we forgottent the active help of the Russians in that war, and in the most recent war?
