Terrorists Claim to Have Kidnapped Israeli

Arutz Sheva is reporting tonight that Palestinian terrorists claim to have kidnapped a Jerusalem resident. Military and security officials are investigating the claim. The terrorists claim to have videotaped statements from the victim who appears to be in his 20's and is wearing a skullcap.

Update 1:12 AM

HaAretz is reporting that the Jerusalem resident in question is Benjamin Bright-Fishbein, and that terrorists from 'moderate' Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen's Fatah organization have sent a video to al-Reuters which purports to have Bright-Fishbein on it. The kidnapping allegedly took place in Shchem (Nablus).
"We are still checking the veracity of the report," a senior security source told Haaretz on Saturday night. The first report came in at 9 P.M. and seemed a little doubtful to us," the source said. "But toward midnight we received indications that it is a serious story. We started to relate to it as a kidnapping, thus putting us on a false alert and creating panic."
The Shin Bet (General Security Service) is trying to discover whether Bright-Fishbein went to Shchem on his own or was taken there by the kidnappers.
