Sderot to shut down

Sderot will be shut down for 24 hours tomorrow - no one in and no one out, except for emergency services. Included among the "no ones" is Defense Minister, Comrade Peretz, who is a Sderot resident.

They have also decided to end the school year tomorrow - eleven days early.

Mayor Eli Moyal also says that Sderot residents are planning to come to Jerusalem to block entrances to the Knesset and to government offices. While I am happy to see them do that, I don't think it's the most productive use of their time. Jerusalemites are less afflicted with NotInMyBackYard Syndrom than others in this country. If I were Eli Moyal, I would be blocking roads and entrances in the Kirya (Army command headquarters) in Tel Aviv.
