'Palestinians' holding Shilat make demand

Al-AP is reporting that the 'Palestinians' holding Israeli soldier Gilad Shilat have made a demand in return for his release. A statement faxed Monday by Palestinian groups purporting to hold an Israeli soldier demanded the release of women and children under 18 held in Israeli prisons. The authenticity of the statement could not immediately be verified.

Update 6:10 PM

JPost is reporting same demand made in leaflet distributed in Gaza.

Update 6:15 PM

Ha'Aretz is reporting that demand is for information and not for release of the soldier. In other words, release women and under 18's held in Israeli jails in return for 'information' about the soldier. Sounds like Hezbullah all over again.
