Islamic Jihad 'armed wing' 'accepts' 'prisoners' document'

The number of scare quotes ought to tell you that I don't really believe this, but Islamic Jihad's 'armed wing' announced a few minutes ago that they 'accept' the 'prisoners' document' that Hamas rejected last week.

The 'prisoners' document' accepts a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict subject to many conditions (including the 'right of return') that are unlikely to ever be fulfilled. Fatah now wishes to put it to a referendum.

Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal asserted, "He who wants to know the popular will should refer to what this will determined four months ago in legislative elections."

Fatah has started preparing for the referendum on the 'Prisoners' Document' anyway.
