We are the Champions!

Let's go to the videotape.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm floating.

Once a Bostonian, always a Bostonian.

I hope that Dad z"l - who was a major Red Sox fan - is celebrating in Heaven. He never got to see the Red Sox win it all at home.

This gives Cubs fans hope. They just might get to a World Series one day.

Hey, the Mets, 1969-proof of Divine intervention??? :-)

If it could happen for the Mets, the Cubs and their ever-faithful fans have reason to hope!

Which reminds me of a joke:

Abe and Harry were two lifetime friends, both now widowers and living in a Senior Citizens home in Florida. They were also retired Major League Baseball players. Baseball was in their blood and they spent their days on the Senior Citizens' home porch, talking baseball. Half the time, they were following current baseball and the other half talking about the good old days when they were young, playing in the Majors.

One of their topics of conversation-is there baseball in Heaven? They both agreed it wouldn't really be Heaven without baseball and surely the Lord would want His beloved children to be happy in Heaven!
So, they made an agreement. Whichever of the two who passed away first would, if allowed, make a spiritual return, to tell the other whether or not there's baseball in Heaven.
An all-too-brief amount of time passed and one night, Harry passed away peacefully in his sleep. Abe was very sad, his wife had passed on and now so had his dear friend Harry. A short amount of time after the funeral, Abe was sitting on the porch, feeling glum and all of a sudden, Harry's ghost appeared, standing before him, looking like he did as a young man!

"Harry, is that you?" Abe cried out.

"It's me." said Harry, who broke into a big grin. "Abe, I've got two pieces of news for you. First, there's baseball in Heaven! We have leagues organized and I'm on a team with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig! We play double-headers every afternoon and we're not even tired afterwards, and nobody ever gets injured. You won't believe who's one of the Umpires: Arnold Rothstein! Beats me how he got into Heaven but he's there. Wow! We have some really great games, Abe!"

Abe was thrilled at this news. "So, what's the other news, Harry?"

"You're pitching for us this afternoon."
