'Palestinians' would rather die than be treated by Jews

A Magen David Adom medic was nearly lynched by 'Palestinians' at an accident scene just outside Jerusalem on Tuesday. Akiva Novick reports:
Upon reaching on the scene the crew began treating two young women who were hurt in the crash. But their efforts were interrupted with the arrival of the victims' family members, whose misguided attempts to defend the women quickly turned violent.

"Suddenly, a Volkswagen came to a screeching halt and three Arab youths emerged," said S., a paramedic. "They started to curse and tried to discern who hurt the women."

The crew's account of the accident failed to pacify the enraged men, who upped the verbal attack.

"They started cursing the IDF, Magen David Adom and everything affiliated with the state," S. said. "They called us 'maniacs and f***ing Jews.' We were shocked by how angry they were."

Meanwhile, more Palestinians gathered around them. When some began hitting the ambulance, the paramedic took charge of protecting his crew mates – a female driver and a 16-year-old male volunteer.

"I told them to lock themselves in the ambulance while I remained outside to deal with the situation," S. said, "The attackers cursed and pushed me. At one point more than ten people surrounded me and began punching me in the ribs and the head."
Three Arabs are to be indicted on Friday in connection with this incident, which took place on Tuesday. All three are Jerusalem residents. Maybe Magen David Adom should stop responding to accident scenes where all the victims are 'Palestinians,' at least in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria? I know - we're most unlikely to do that, but we apparently have to give our medics some better ways to protect themselves than this.

Aren't these services armed? If not, why not??

I don't think that "the Palestinians" would rather die than be treated by Jews. They would rather let their women die than have Jews treat them. It wasn't the injured who attacked the MDA personnel.

Maybe even the women were running away from the men. Years ago I was witness to a girl running away from possibly her husband/father, in Morocco. It was horrible when he yanked open the taxi door and dragged her out screaming.
The attack on the medic is outrageous and disgusting and will always haunt him.

Heplev's comment seems very insightful.

When I was in college, I had the opportunity to take 2 semesters of Psychology under a brilliant, extremely articulate PhD with a great diversity of knowledge in history, economics, world affairs. He was of the Behaviorist school of thought. He managed to convince me anyhow. Not that some of the other schools of psych. aren't valid, but that Behaviorism is the "shortest straight line between two points."

The point is: hatred and bigotry are learned behaviors. No Arab is born hating Jews or Christians. That's instilled incrementally.

That also applies to all ethnic hatred and conflict, and is not unique to Israel and the Arab world.
I was really struck some time back reading about a very popular Arabic kids show, somewhat like Sesame Street, very popular on the "West Bank". Except on this program, I can't remember the name, the characters also pump out non-stop short bits, phrases (that little ones can absorb and remember) about The Enemy, The Jew. Brainwashing innocent toddlers, small children into Junior Nazis-wicked, wicked, wicked!

It certainly doesn't excuse the hatred and bigotry of Arabs, but it does explain where it comes from. As Dr. Wafa Sultan has noted, an Arab child starts to absorb this with his/her mother's milk. Arabs are conditioned to hate firstly Jews, then Christians, all other infidels.

As long as this type of behavior continues, generation-to-generation powerful conditioning to hate, there will be no general peace between Israel and the Arab world. Nor do I have a clue as to how to end this inter-generational conditioning. Because of this, Israel simply doesn't have a peace partner.
