Statement on police raid on Yitzhar on Monday morning

I received the following statement from David HaIvri of the Shomron Liaison Office.
At 4:30 this morning a staggering 200 elite police officers were mobilized in cooperation with the Shabak, in an operation to detain 4 law-abiding citizens in their homes and to confiscate a small number of computers in the Shomron community of Yitzhar, after a prolonged search. No reason for this enormous waste of police time and manpower has yet been given, and all 4 men have now been released without charge. These men were simply practicing their legitimate right to free speech by broadcasting legally over the Internet. This police action raises great concern about the right of free expression in this country while Israeli citizens are being detain and harassed for publishing their views on the internet.

But more importantly, the people of Israel will quite rightly be asking where this apparent show of police strength came from. In Jerusalem and across Judea and Samaria, an extreme-left coalition of foreigners, anarchists and local Arab have been wreaking havoc and perpetrating repeated violent assaults on Jewish residents of those areas.

We call for the Israeli police to cease its role as a political tool for the left and to return to its function as protector of the Israeli citizen from rising crime and extreme left-wing violence.
Hmmm.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was for expressing Kahanist views.

Still the Israeli police has never acted against extreme leftists who have cheered on terrorism against Jews, advocated boycott, sanctions and divestment from Israel and who openly push for Israel's destruction.

The dual justice system in Israel is alive and well.

I am concerned that citizens of a small community were detained for no apparent reason. Very concerned.

Thank you for calling this article to the attention of those of us still in the Galut.

Shalom

I’d like to see some examples of what they were promoting. And how or where..

The “leftists” that you’re talking about, are hardly the same threat as Kahanism. That is a violent movement, akin to Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda etc.

These are anarchist terrrorist organisations which dress themselves up in selective religious paraphernalia that seemingly "predicts and confirms" their narrow minded dogma, to lend credence to their nonsense.

Anyone have any links or examples of what they were distributing? and through whom?

Say what you like about Kahane, he was prescient about Israel being led to the slaughter.

After nearly twenty years of being leftist guinea pigs, Israelis have seen he was right after all.

Arab hate of the Jews won't be changed by demonstrating Jewish goodwill to them. The Arabs are never going to accept Zionism.

Most Israeli Jews understand this. Those who don't, should pack their bags and leave the country.

Jews have no due process in Judea and Samaria- they live under martial law. Until there is a move to annex them, or they become a sovereign unto themselves, they have no civil rights to speak of. Demonstrations can get you thrown in jail.

Comparing Kahane and his followers to Hezbollah, Hamas, and al Qaeda is ridiculous. Te goal of the last three is to create a world-wide caliphate, kill Jews, and subjagate other non-Muslims. The goal of Kahanism, as I understand it, is to create an Israel where voting rights are limited to Jews (though non-Jews retain all other civil privileges), the expansion of Israeli territory, and the removal from Israel(voluntary, if possible) of those who do not support Israel as a Jewish state.

It may be discriminatory, it may not be very "nice", but compared to genocide and world domination, its goals are very mild indeed.

Why wasn't my comment to KerrySH posted?

In any case, can we have an update on this case. What materials were they disseminating? Any copies, or police reports as to what it was?

I'd like to know what these kahanists have in store for us

Chayma: Kahanism is not an "organization," it is an ideology. Ideologies cannot be "terrorists." The US did not list Kahanism. It listed a cluster of names all attached to two inter-related organizations that haven't existed since 1993. As for the list, it borders on retarded. It is pure propaganda. Take for example the New Peoples Army of the Philippines. It was added only as leverage, in exchange for then Philippine President Arroyo breaking her own laws by allowing American Special Forces to open the third front in its "War on Terror" in that nation.
