What will Prime Minister Netanyahu say to Congress on Tuesday night? National Union leader Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh) wrote a speech that he sent to Netanyahu, and he asked Arutz Sheva to translate and post it (Hat Tip: Gershon D).
I bet he would say it... It seems to me a pretty centrist Israeli speech to me. To love the Land isn't a left-wing or right-wing position. Its an Israeli patriotic position. Its an Israeli consensus. Telling American friends the truth can only help Israel in the next several months. An Israel that sticks to its principles and resists world pressure to amputate more of its homeland can defeat what Abu Bluff and Haniyeh have in mind for it. This is not the time to panic. The Jews faced a far worse situation in 1947. Today, Israel's challenge is defeating the Palestinian attempt to carry on its war against the Jewish State through international institutions. Now is the time to be strong and of good courage. Someday, peace through strength will be possible.
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004.
