Malta has refused to return to Libya two fighter jets that landed in Malta's airport last week carrying Libyan defectors.
Malta has rejected Libya's request to return the two fighter planes which landed in Malta last week, piloted by two Libyan officers who defected from Qaddafi's army, Malta's Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said on Sunday.

Libya had sent a civilian aircraft to Malta in order to return the aircraft to Libyan territory, but Malta had refused to allow the plane to land.

Maltese is a form of Arabic written in the Latin alphabet. The island is the only Arabized country in the world with an overwhelming Roman Catholic majority.
