Afraid Obama will say no?

Prime Minister Netanyahu has not demanded that the US release Jonathan Pollard because he's afraid that President Obama will say no. Really.
Netanyahu told a delegation of activists for Pollard led by Esther [Pollard] and former US assistant secretary of defense Lawrence Korb that he had quietly raised the Israeli agent’s fate six times in meetings with Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in an effort to secure his release.

Netanyahu questioned whether a public call might do more harm than good.

“There is a risk that I might do everything that you suggest and that it simply won’t work,” he told the group candidly.
And therefore he won't try?

What's the worst that can happen? Obama will say "no"? Then at least Israel did everything it could.

But we'll never know until it makes a public demand for Pollard's release.
