Why did the Bobbies take so long to show up? Israeli goods destroyed at TESCO in Wales
You will recall that in March 2009, I posted a video of 'pro-Palestinian activists' pulling Israeli products off the shelves of a Carrefour supermarket in France. In that case, the police never showed up.The same thing happened at a TESCO in Wales this past weekend. This time the police showed up, but not until after many goods had been removed from the store and destroyed. This time, they claim only to be targeting 'West Bank' goods that are produced in 'illegal settlements' which goods they claim it is 'illegal' to sell.
But that's wrong. The Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria are not illegal. Nor is it illegal to sell goods produced in them in the United Kingdom. What does exist is a labeling law that requires that such goods be labeled as coming from the 'West Bank' and not from Israel. Of course, that law was intended to encourage stunts like this.

So why did the Bobbies take so long to show up? I'd love to know.

'Cause they're not bobbies -- they're bubbies! What the bubbies heard on that phone call: Many people have visited a store to remove Israeli products that they don't want anymore. (ie: You should clean your house because soon they'll be visiting with many Israeli products!)

Because of that, I intend to go shopping, but not at Tesco, and stock up on Israeli produce.
