Stupid Jews: Israel agrees to compensate the UN for Gaza

Haaretz reports that the Israeli government has agreed to compensate the United Nations for damages sustained to its buildings while they were being used by terrorists to hide out during Operation Cast Lead.
Israel has agreed in principle to reimburse losses the United Nations suffered during Israel's three-week offensive in the Gaza Strip last winter,a UN spokesman said on Thursday.

Spokesman Martin Nesirky declined to give a figure or other details of the accord. A UN inquiry last year put the cost of damage to UN property in Gaza during the conflict at over $11 million, almost all of it caused by Israeli forces.

Israel said damage to UN premises was caused unintentionally when its troops responded to Palestinian fire and argued that Hamas operatives fought in, or near UN-protected buildings during the fighting.

Israel, however, agreed to consider a UN compensation request sent in July.

Another UN official who asked not to be identified said $10.5 million was "the figure that has been bandied about, but nothing has been finalized."

"Agreement has been reached in principle on the terms of an arrangement under which Israel would make a payment to the United Nations," Nesirky told reporters.
No UN personnel were injured during Operation Cast Lead. The bulk of the damage was sustained by UNRWA, the organization that is dedicated to making sure that 'Palestinians' remain 'refugees' in perpetuity.
The main damage to UN property in Gaza came on Jan. 15 when Israeli shells hit a compound of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), badly damaging a warehouse and training center. Several UN-run schools were hit in other strikes.
Anyone want to explain why Israel should waste $11 million to placate the UN? Stupid Jews....

Is anyone of aware of any other conflicts in which damage has been done to UN facilities in a war zone? Did the UN ever demand compensation for those damages? Just putting my double-standard feelers out there...

Stupid Jews, indeed! One would think after Goldstone, Israel would treat the UN as the enemy.

Its a gift the Jew-hating UN doesn't deserve.

From the article; "UN property in Gaza during the conflict at over $11 million" My question is, is all of gaza even worth 11 mil. let alone just the UN buildings?

This is a huge mistake and a very bad precedent. It will result in endless lawsuits being used as political and econommic weapons against Israel.
Where is the out cry about all the damage done to UN personal and equipment by "Non-Jews"? There isn't any because the Anti-Semites of the UN aren't going to sue other Anti-Semites from around the world.
How about Israel suing Hamas, Hezbollah and the rest for every bit of damage and expense incurred by their attacks. And drag Goldstone to court for libel and slander and have some intelligence ops scour every moment of his life for every little bit of dirt and publish it all......I can dream can't I.

That's a real head-scratcher to me, seems like the UN should be paying Israel for all the enabling of terrorism against her.

Why not assess the UN appropriate damages for its 60+ years of support of terror? They openly finance terrorists by hiring them. They openly and wantonly place the lives and property of Israelis and Jews everywhere in danger. Their actions have led to death, destruction, and an ongoing conflict that has cost countless billions of dollars.

So ... why is Israel paying the UN?

It should be the other way around.

Seriously, the 'palis' want lawfare, its time to bring our "A" game to them and their enablers at the UN.

Sue them, charge them, arrest them. Make it loud and public. Do the same to all who actively aid and abet them. Swear warrants out on them to Interpol. Sue them in all universal jurisdiction venues.

What this will accomplish, apart from clearly, without any hope of a fig leaf to hid this, showing the world the ridiculous double standards to which they hold Israelis, and the insanity of universal jurisdiction. Either the allow all suits or no suits. If they only allow some, then bring them up on human rights charges at the Hague.

Turn all these instruments used against Israel into instrumentality of Israels victory over the idiots.
