In Lebanon on Saturday, chefs prepared a two-ton plate of Hummus to break a Guinness World Record that was previously held by Israel (I believe that the photo is actually the Israeli hummus whose record they broke). Meryl Yourish has a neat quip about it.
Yeah, you really have to concentrate on what’s important. Don’t try to break Israeli records in things like numbers of Ph.D’s per capita, or tech companies, or scientific innovation. Instead, let’s concentrate on what’s really important:
Hey, you know - it's their 'honor.' Heh.

Soccerdad pointed out that this is another attempt to portray Israeli's as transplanted Europeans, but meh - it's a shame they didn't break the world record just for fun.

They cannot allow the Jews to beat them. For the Arabs, honor is even more important than life.
