Where are American Jews?

Richard Greenfield looks out over the Obama administration's continued swipes at Israel and asks "where are American Jews?" (Hat Tip: NY Nana).
Where are American Jews during all of this?

It seems they are still divided along pre-election lines. As individuals, most Jews who voted for Obama last November are content to ignore Israel's agony in the face of U.S. pressure because they still trust the President on other issues. They ignore the threats to Israel's safety and security and are blind to America's infringing on Israel's sovereignty as a free and democratic nation. Not coincidently, Soros-funded anti-Israel groups have popped up promoting the scurrilous conclusions of the infamous Walt-Merscheimer report which was rife with accusations of Jewish- American's dual loyalty and Israel's culpability for every ill in the Middle East.

If this continues, and there's little to indicate it won't, Jews will have to make painful and difficult choices between their support for Israel and their preference for other policies of this administration. This choosing will play out during the upcoming 2010 Congressional elections. The President is leaving them little room to maneuver, as there are even stories, unofficial so far, of U.S. political and economic sanctions against Israel if she doesn't accede to Obama's demands.

Without a strong American Jewish voice in support of Israel much is at risk. The solid coalition for Israel in the U.S. Congress is in the process of weakening as Democrats in Congress continue to find the pressures from Rahm Emmanuel and others difficult to resist. If Jews go silent during the 2010 elections and allow apathy, fear or political preference to prevent them from speaking up for Israel, the bullying will increase and the worst and most deadly outcomes will become real possibilities.
Unfortunately, it's worse than what Greenfield describes. Most American Jews won't have to make 'painful and difficult choices.' They have already chosen. For them, Judaism has been replaced by Liberalism, and Liberalism's tenets proclaim that God wants socialized healthcare, government-controlled executive salaries, a government-managed automobile industry, and a 'Palestinian' state reichlet for good measure.

As to the 'worst and most deadly outcomes,' most American Jews don't see that the light at the end of the tunnel is actually an oncoming train, nor that the 'worst and most deadly outcomes' that they so blithely ignore as someone else's problem are their problem too.

It's really sad.... I am looked at by alot of people in my schul as a radical since I advocate having tightened security there,,

I have also advocated that Jewish men and women, buy guns, get training and be legal...

I am a loon...

But I put my Glock in my trunk (clip in the glove compartment) every time i go to schul just in case...

Maybe I am a fool...

I read that 80% of Bnei Yisrael were not worthy of taking part in yitziat mitzrayim and died during the plague of darkness. They chose to assimilate. They failed.

They chose Obama, secularism, liberalism, abortion rights, and the non-Jewish "oppressed" proletariate over their own people.

They will fail.

American Jews believe socialism to be a great thing. They have learned nothing from the experience of European and Soviet Jews who where nearly completely destroyed by it. And its going to consume American Jewry, too. They can't claim they weren't warned.

Thanks for the hat tip, Carl.

We are now the fifth month of Hussein's regime, and it only gets worse, as far as I can see.

As for American Jewry? There is some buyers' remorse re their dangerous vote, but not enough, and those who will admit that they made a grievous error now realize just how wrong they were, but alas, they are not in the majority.

He is giving a speech that has gone on for nearly 50 minutes. I have the TV on, but muted. I will read what he said later. I just want to know when it is safe to put the radio back on. I have the feeling that his mouth is only emitting hot air, as usual.

'As to the 'worst and most deadly outcomes,' most American Jews don't see that the light at the end of the tunnel is actually an oncoming train, nor that the 'worst and most deadly outcomes' that they so blithely ignore as someone else's problem are their problem too.'

In that paragraph, it is summed up perfectly. I shudder to think what the wake-up call would be.

my question is where were the israeli citizens during the criminaly insane traitorous leftist regimes of peres,rabin,olmert,etc.etc.
what do you want from obama?why should he be more of a zionist than the israeli leaders themselves?
did not those traitorous gangsters olmert, livni, peres.say the same thing as obama is demanding, giving up 98% of YESHA,dividing jerusalem,
giving up the golan, taking back refugees,
in other words if the citizens of israel don't care about their own country, after all almost half of the country voted for those swines of kadima and labor, why should the jews of america care?

This American Jew is frantically studying conversational Hebrew because I can see the oncoming train wreck and don't think the US will be a place for Jews in the future.

where are the 80% of American Jews that supported Obama?
They are having gentile children/grandchildren

Wasn't there another historical Jewish community that was 80% assimilated?

Careful, Carl. Shomrei Shabbat American Jews are simply out-voted by the Reform and Conservative Communities.

You keep Israel afloat and we'll keep working on our friends in other movements.

Fair enough?

I am a Jewish American. I am not a liberal and I did not vote for Obama. I just needed to go on record.
