Oh my: Netanyahu comes out strongly in favor of Iranian students

On Sunday's Meet the Press, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu came out in favor of the student demonstrators in Iran.

Let's go to the videotape.

Netanyahu is masterful - he's everything the bumbling Obama is not (and note how he gracefully refuses to second guess the President of the United States).

Note how he praises the willingness of ordinary Iranians to stand up for their rights.

Is Netanyahu taking Caroline Glick's advice? My sense is that slowly but surely he is moving in that direction. Netanyahu and Israel are taking the lead in supporting the Iranian students in the streets.

Best of all: No questions about the 'Palestinians' until the last minute of the interview. Iran has become the number one issue. Netanyahu has to be pleased.

Exit question: If Iran keeps up with the nuclear program as an Islamic state, does anyone think Netanyahu won't attack in the next year or so?

I think Netanyahu is moving in the direction of supporting the Iranian people - not students, Carl. Unlike in the last two upheavals in Iran, this is a much broader based movement. And it puts Israel on the side of freedom and justice.

Et tu, Ahmedinejad?

Hey, Roger - how's all that talk of engagement with the Islamist Khomeinist regime working for you these days?
