'Good terrorists' from Fatah call for mass murderer's release

The official 'Palestinian' daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida called for the release of Thaer Hamed and lamented the fact that Hamed was not included in Hamas' list of terrorists whose release is demanded in exchange for kidnapped IDF corporal Gilad Shalit. In one of the most heinous attacks of the Oslo War, Hamed sat atop a hill with a high-powered sniper rifle during morning rush hour in 2002 and picked off seven IDF soldiers, a paramedic and two other civilians one-by-one.
According to the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), which translated and reported on the article, editor Hafez Barghouti praised Hamed for "having carried out the most successful military action, alone… he is the hero of the Intifada…"

From a hiding place on a hill in 2002, Hamed shot and killed seven Israeli soldiers, one after the other, as they emerged from a building below in Wadi Al-Haramiyye. He also shot and killed an Israeli paramedic and two civilians in the same area.

The editor bemoaned the fact that Hamed was not included in the list of killers that Hamas has demanded that Israel free in exchange for the life of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, who has been held hostage in Gaza since his capture on June 25, 2006.

"This young man should be our top priority since he entered the history of the Intifada as having carried out the most successful military action, alone…" he wrote.

"He is made of the same stuff as those who carried out the capture of Shalit."
The attack took place during morning rush hour at a checkpoint along a major highway in Samaria through which both soldiers and civilians passed. The soldiers were from the unit that was manning the checkpoint.

For many years there was speculation that Hamed had been trained by the Irish Republican Army or that the attack had been carried out by an IRA mercenary and not by a 'Palestinian.' It's a shame that Israel does not impose the death penalty on terrorists.

The 'Palestinian Authority' seeks the release of the most heinous terrorists with a view to preparing for a war of extinction against the Jewish state and to humiliate Israel by forcing it to make the murderers of Jews go free.

Humiliation?

Israel is past that point already when it released Samir Kuntar from prison last year. How much worse could it get now?

Its still wrong!
