Congrats on your interview, Carl with John Devore.

On a related topic, Barbara Lerner has an excellent article on the much demonized Israeli settlers. Its not just the Gazan Jewish communities destroyed by the Israeli government but the same mindless judenrein approach is being contemplated in Judea and Samaria. That she writes would be the beginning of the end of Israeli statehood.

Hat Tip: Demonized Israeli Settlers

Read it all.

As a follow up to my Hat Tip post, the term "settlers" has become so loaded and pejorative in usage, a more accurate term is revanant. Then again if one wants to be truly accurate, to the Arabs ALL the Jews in Israel are settlers, not just those who live in Jewish communities east of the so called "Green Line." Something to think about.

NormanF,

About 3-4 years ago, Yisrael Medad wrote a piece where he said that the Jews of Judea and Samaria (and Gaza until they were expelled) should be called "revenants." I have linked and discussed it several times - you can search for it in the blog.

And I try never to use 'settlers' without scare quotes to show that I don't agree with the term. It probably should have been translated as pioneers or the Jews who moved to Judea and Samaria (and Gaza) should have been properly called chalutzim.
