Jimmy the Dhimmi to speak at DNC?

Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama's party in Denver is going to be 'graced' with a speech by former President Jimmy the Dhimmi Carter, who was last seen laying a wreath at the grave of terror innovator Yasser Arafat and meeting with Hamas representatives in Egypt and Syria. The Republican Jewish Coalition has called on Obama to rescind the invitation to Carter (Hat Tip: Jennifer Rubin).
The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) today called on Sen. Barack Obama and the Democratic Party leadership to remove former President Jimmy Carter from the program at the Democratic National Convention. Yesterday it was announced that Carter is scheduled to speak at the Convention in Denver on Monday, August 25, 2008.

Through the years, President Carter has consistently demonstrated by his statements and actions a troubling anti-Israel bias.

...

"Jimmy Carter's long history of anti-Israel bias has rendered him unfit to address the Democratic Convention. It is incumbent upon the Democratic Party leadership and Senator Obama to remove Carter from the program in Denver. The Democratic Party and Senator Obama's continued embrace of Carter and his anti-Israel bias sends a troubling message to the Jewish community. It stands in stark contrast to the GOP and John McCain's pro-Israel stance," said RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks. "Additionally, Senator Obama should reject Carter's superdelegate vote. The hand that shook Khaled Meshal's should not be allowed to rise in support of Senator Obama's candidacy for president."
With all due respect, I disagree with the Republican Jewish Coalition. Jimmy Carter's long history of anti-Israel bias makes him the perfect candidate to a Democratic party led by Barak Hussein Obama. He deserves a place on the program in Denver, because when the Democrats applaud Carter they will be showing their true colors. The hand that shook Khaled Meshal's is exactly the hand to show all those knee-jerk Democratic Jewish voters what an Obama Presidency will mean for the Jews and Israel. That's not to say that I expect anyone who has replaced Judaism with Liberalism as his religion to be persuaded not to vote Democratic by Carter's presence in Denver - I don't. But I'm not convinced that every Democratic voter is so blind to reality.

The RJC is right about one point: "The Democratic Party and Senator Obama's continued embrace of Carter and his anti-Israel bias sends a troubling message to the Jewish community." It does indeed. And maybe having Carter be a featured speaker in Denver will awaken the Jewish community enough to hear that message.

Carl - people like us are very much the exception. The overwhelming majority of American Jews are liberal. Their religion is not so much Judaism as it is liberalism. There's the joke of American Judaism being the Democratic Party in the synagogue and its Torah is the Democrat Party platform, its militantly secular and its messiah is Obama. All true. I'd love it if American Jews would wake up to the threat Obama represents. Enough of them will still mindlessly vote for him despite his personal circumstances, his past radical associations and his current stable of anti-Israel advisers like Rice, Brezinzski and McPeak. The Democratic Party is not that supportive of Israel these days.

I'm sorry Carl, I don't agree with you on this one.

Carter's DNC speech will prove that in America, it's perfectly OK to be an anti-semite.

Carter's exhibition will broadcast to the world that in the USA, you can hate the Jews & Israel and still be a popular, respected and coveted public figure. Any one can do it - even ex presidents. Embarrassment or public shame won't happen. Quite the opposite, the anti semite's popularity and career will get boosted. Stop Carter from gaining legitimacy and becoming politically correct.
Ban him before it too late.

I agree with you, Carl. I, for one, am proud to say that Jimmy Carter is a member of the Democratic Party.

shmuel is right. It is acceptable to be an anti-Semite in the US.

Somehow, I have the sinking feeling that nothing, absolutely nothing, will change the minds of any Obamamaniacs.

Are you kidding me?
Didn't Jimmy Carter broker peace between Israel and Egypt?
Is it possible to disagree with Israeli policies and not be anti-semetic.
I don't agree with everything my gov does (USA) and I am not anti-american.
