Video: Olmert ridiculed in the Knesset

Prime Minister Ehud K. Olmert embarrassed the Labor Party on Wednesday when he announced at the Knesset podium that he intends to run for reelection as Kadima chairman despite the deal reached overnight Tuesday in which Labor gave up its effort to initiate an early election. At the Knesset on Wednesday the prime minister was ridiculed and jeered, despite discussing the nation's most pressing issues.

Let's go to the videotape.

I think Ehud Olmert put Ehud Barak in his place. No one in Israel will ever take Barak's cries of wolf seriously again. Barak couldn't even get a commitment in writing that Olmert would not run in his party's primary in exchange for agreeing not to bring the government down. The biggest political loser today wasn't Olmert but Barak who showed when push came to shove, his first instinct was to cave in and not even get the best terms that he could have for himself and his party. He's even stupider at political infighting than Olmert.

The big questions now are:
#1 do the rest of the laborites have the guts to kick Barak out on his tochas
#2 does Shas have the cojones to leave the gvt. because they did not get their child benefits
#3 is the Israeli citizenry stupid enough to vote once again for Olmert?
