Crescent News Network promotes Islam

There is no cable television in my neighborhood, and therefore I was lucky enough to miss the Crescent News Network special last night on God's warriors. Debbie Schlussel previewed it last night and Pamela at Atlas Shrugs tore it apart when it was over. Both are worth reading.

From Pamela's post, I gather that part of the show dealt with what is known here as the Machteret, the group of Jews who were convicted of 'terrorizing' Arabs in the early 1980's. I have a little inside knowledge about the Machteret. Although about twenty-five men were eventually convicted and sent to jail, most of them had nothing to do with most of the activities, including the two the media seized upon: an alleged plot to blow up the mosques on the Temple Mount (which did not exist) and the placement of a 'bomb' underneath a bus in the Arab part of the city (the bomb was a dud and was designed to show that they could do it).

The most 'successful' attacks were actually political assassination attempts against terrorist leaders who were made Mayors of Arab towns by the Israeli military authorities in a bid to gain their cooperation.

For those who are interested in finding out the truth, I suggest reading Letters from Tel Mond Prison and Dear Brothers.
