Assad threatens to set the entire region on fire

Chinless ophthalmologist Bashar al-Assad, with whom defenseless 'defense minister' Amir Comrade Peretz (whose name will never be forgotten by Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah) wants to open negotiations, threatened UN Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon last week that he would "set the region on fire, from the Caspian to the Mediterranean." For once, Assad was not making threats over Israel:
The focus of the telephone discussion was creation of the international tribunal that will try suspects in the 2005 assassination of Lebanese ex-Premier Rafik Hariri and related crimes, the report explained.

It stressed that the tribunal issue will be a topic of discussion within the U.N. Security Council as of Monday.

Following the tense discussion with Ban, Assad on Thursday announced that his country is not concerned with the international tribunal, stating that the court is "a special topic concerning Lebanon and the United Nations."
What a nice man that Dr. Assad. I'll be if we give him the Golan Heights he will let us live in 'peace.'

"Chinless ophthalmologist Bashar al-Assad"

That's OK but I like Mark Steyn's moniker for him, "Boy Assad". It has that uniquely Steynish contempt.
