Garage sale, 'Palestinian' style

I'm sure you all have been to garage sales. Usually, they sell old books and records, used furniture, appliances, etc. But in Gaza, they have a different kind of garage sale. According to the London Sunday Mail, here's a list of what's on sale at this garage sale:

Hat Tip: Pajamas Media
1. Heckler & Koch G3 7.62mm assault rifle. Probably German-made. With non-standard sniper scope.

2. Uzi 9mm machine pistol. Ex-Israeli.

3. Pot of .22 pistol ammunition.

4. 9mm pistol ammunition (in white bag).

5. Kalashnikov AK47. Appears to be Iraqi-made copy of Soviet design.

6. Kalashnikov AK47. Appears to be East German or Polish-made.

7. Kalashnikov AK47 (Iraqi-made).

8. Bag of Soviet-made 7.62mm ammunition, to fit assault rifles.

9. Spare magazines for AK47s.

10. Uzi 9mm machine pistol.

11. 9mm pistol. Probably South Korean.
But give them a state reichlet and maybe they won't be so violent anymore.

I note that guns are more difficult to obtain in Israel.

They need a "shall issue" law.

I have been misinformed.

Israel promotes an armed citizenry.

I wouldn't say that Israel promotes an armed citizenry. It's more like Israel recognizes that people who live in certain areas need to be armed to protect themselves. Yes, there are a lot of guns (and soldiers carrying guns in particular) in the streets here. But if you compare the level or gun ownership/usage with the number of violent crimes committed using firearms, I think the ratio is probably the reverse of what you would get by comparing those two numbers in the United States. Lots of people carry guns. But it's rare that they are used except to defend against terrorists.
