How innocent are 'Palestinian civilians'?

From time to time on this blog, I have noted that Israel restrains itself out of a fear of hurting innnocent 'Palestinian civilians.' However, I have also suggested that while targeting civilians is wrong, Israel needs to show a bit less caring for 'Palestinian civilians' in the hope that they will rise up against the terrorists in their midst and expel them. I have noted that the Geneva Convention permits this by providing that terrorists' hiding among civilians do not thereby gain immunity. I have even gone so far as to postulate that the terrorists want 'Palestinian civilians' to be killed, because of the impact on world opinion.

This morning, there is more evidence that the 'Palestinian civilians' need to be taught a lesson. In fact, there is evidence that finding 'Palestinian civilians' who do not support the terrorists may be as elusive as finding 'moderate Muslims' in the United States and in Europe.

A survey by the 'Palestinian' news agency Maan indicates that 82% of the 'Palestinians' believe that kidnapped and wounded Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit should only be released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners terrorists. Only 6% favor releasing him immediately. 82%! No wonder the terrorists have no problems finding places to hide!

I guess it kind of goes without saying that Ehud Olmert has ruled out any 'prisoner release' in exchange for information about Shalit. He also said that he would not exchange 'prisoners' to get Shalit back.

Gracious God! Grant us the courage, NOW, to make the right decisions!

July 9th, 1850, marks the day when the Holy One, sent by God for human benefit, was SHOT by the Muslim authorities in Iran!

By turning away from The Bab, and Baha'u'llah, the Muslim clergy condemn the Muslim ummah to lives of continuing oppression and ignorance!

Thank God, for Israel, as it protects Mount Carmel, Haifa!
